Skylight Services in Williamsburg, VA
RoofTrue is a VELUX® Certified Installer that installs, replaces and repairs skylights for homes in Williamsburg and the surrounding area. Most skylight leaks are not the glass. They come from worn flashing, failed seals or the way the unit was tied into the roof. As roofers, we fix the roof around the skylight, not just the skylight itself.

Good to know
What to know before you call
A skylight is a hole in your roof, so the flashing around it matters as much as the unit. If water shows up on the ceiling near a skylight, the cause is usually one of three things: flashing that has pulled away or rusted, a seal between glass and frame that has failed, or condensation forming on the inside.
We figure out which one you have before recommending anything. If your roof is getting replaced soon, that is the best time to replace or reflash a skylight, since the shingles around it are coming off anyway.

Straight answers
Questions homeowners ask
Is RoofTrue a VELUX certified installer?
Yes. RoofTrue is a VELUX Certified Installer, which means our crew has completed VELUX training on installing and replacing VELUX skylights. As roofers, we also handle the flashing and shingles around every unit.
Is my skylight leaking or is it condensation?
Condensation tends to show up on cold mornings and drips evenly from the glass. A leak shows up during or after rain and often stains the drywall at one corner. We can tell the difference during an inspection.
Should I replace my skylight when I replace my roof?
Often, yes, if the skylight is older. Replacing it during the roof job avoids cutting into new shingles later. We will tell you if your existing unit is still sound.
Can you remove a skylight I do not want anymore?
Ask us about it during your estimate. Closing a skylight opening means framing, decking and roofing over it so it matches the rest of the roof.
