What is the difference between fascia and soffit?
Fascia is the board along the roof edge that gutters hang on. Soffit is the panel under the overhang that closes it in, often with vents.
Why does fascia rot?
Usually water. Overflowing gutters or a missing drip edge let water soak into the wood over time.
Do I need to replace all of it?
Not always. We replace damaged sections when the rest is sound and tell you plainly if more is failing.
